Forest Bathing

As a guided practice, forest bathing consists of a series of invitations that help you deeply engage with the natural spaces around you, leading to increased wellbeing physically, psychologically, spiritually, and socially. It is an experiential opportunity to reconnect with yourself and the environment in which we live.
During your forest bathing session, you can expect a mindfully immersive experience in a natural setting. You’ll be invited to disconnect from the fast, tech-connected space of your day-to-day world and to tune into your senses to connect with the state of the natural world around you. This includes engaging with natural features such as the ground, plants, water, animals, and sky.
There will be opportunities for movement, sitting, deep breathing, introspection, social interaction, and creativity. Be prepared to be on your feet and moving often, with possible options to walk, bend down/squat, sit, lie down, etc. to gain additional closeness with nature. You will be offered several opportunities for sharing and discussion, but participation in these and any other activity is optional based on your comfort level. (No actual bathing is involved.)

Note:

We will meet by the kiosk near Kirby's Mill, 3771 Oviatt Rd. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water bottle and journal w/ pen or pencil, and dress for the weather. Event will take place rain or shine - cancellation only in case of severe weather (thunder or lightning, excessive cold, etc.).
